In the heart of quaint Dorchester, a brand-new beautiful play café has arrived in the middle of Brewery Square! Nikki's Little Play Café features a sensory room, a sensory wall, exciting soft play, a book library, a café, a separate area for younger ones, spacious seating, accessible access to whole premises, disabled toilet, yummy cakes, good coffee - and even Rosie the therapy dog! Brand New and Opening their doors on Saturday 6th January 2024 at 1pm.....
This much needed play space is a calm, muted, sensory-sympathetic soft play with the highest hygiene standards.
The play café is aesthetically pleasing - avoiding the bright glare of primary colours, the softer tones serve to create a soothing place where little ones can burn off some energy, enjoy quiet time with a book or just discover new sensory stimulation.
Nikki, Russell and the team have ensured that the premises is finished to a very high standard - you can see the time and effort put in - and not a minute was wasted.
I visited Nikki's Little Play Café with my 5 year old, 3 year old and 2 year old. We parked in the large Fair Field carpark where there were ample spaces. We then walked a few minutes through Brewery Square up the slight hill to Number 4 Pope Street.
On the journey, you pass some beautiful shops and restaurants - it made me think that I'll be back to wear the little ones out at soft play then enjoy guilt-free shopping whilst they nap in the buggy!
The soft play is vast; it covers a few floors, and has a great view from the seating area. It is light and airy and with the theme of soft colours flowing throughout the space. Children can enjoy a range of fun activities, from slides to ramps to swinging items and tunnels - a huge variety of challenges to get your little ones balancing, co-ordinating, using their motor skills and growing in their physical development and confidence as they navigate through the soft play.
